Our aim is to equip people of marginalized populations with the knowledge and skills required to reduce poverty and drive sustainable development. In an increasingly globalized and competitive world, knowledge and information are critical factors in building human capital, which is a key element in sustainable poverty eradication.
For this purpose, we have designed a Solar-Powered, Communications and IoT Hub, “Kumba”. For Kumbaya it is a critical time as the company transitions from research and development to offering the product and supportive content into the marketplace. We have built the groundwork in technology, marketing and field-testing which has led to a new phase, of reorganizing the company’s structure and team to level up.
Our “Kumba” IoT Platform provides solar power storage, connectivity and knowledge for vulnerable rural households off the grid, charges phones and small USB devices, and connects the unconnected. It allows WIFI calling and has a Mesh & WIFI hotspot for five built in devices including, terrestrial TV and radio. Besides, it delivers the needed basic educational content to gain needed knowledge, and it’s sensors collects weather, climate, CO, humidity data and other relevant data.
Kumbaya has a network of subcontractors and consultants responsible for building all the elements of the Kumba. In addition, Kumbaya aims to build content development and data analysis Teams, including building a strong network of partners in the markets it serves through the Telcom and satellite operators. Our projection is ultimately to broaden the partner network. This will also include grassroots local sales representatives, and to ensure that all stakeholders from engineering, to marketing, sales and customer service are happy users and thus will motivate them to advocate and improve our Customer Retention.
Why do we need to find the ultimate right-hand partner (CTO)? It is simple, first of all our founder (an impatient optimist dedicated to the belief that all lives have equal value) is not an engineer. His strength is to enable and to sharpen the Kumbaya vision including facilitating innovative ways of addressing societal problems and contributing to efforts that meet real-world poverty eradication goals, based on accurate and unbiased data. The Tech Partner will therefor provide the technical angle needed to help sharpen vision and with whom our Founder can bounce and brainstorm ideas, which the Technical Partner will in turn translate into technical inputs.
The Tech Partner
He/She has an extensive experience In HW/SW and application development. Our product is designed around a Linux Operating System, with wide range applications, as well as portable health and networked devices. The software design is based on an intuitive user interface to ensure that low literate or illiterate users have an easy way of navigating.
Our technology does not stop where we are today, but has improved in step with emerging trends and needs such as Blockchain and cryptocurrency developments. Our product therefore incorporates token award systems and a unique blockchain Persona ID, Birth and death Certification besides facilitating the unbanked with banking services.
The Kumba Platform will also provide transparent Blockchain ledger systems that will help prevent falsification of sensitive documentation such as Land Tittle deeds of small farmers. In addition, the Blockchain Leger has the potential to cut operational costs such as rental costs, besides the potential to save on Foreign Aid and enhance efficiency in Foreign Aid allocation. Through the data provided, Blockchain can optimize a developing economy while Cryptocurrency has the potential to support economically vulnerable groups start their own small-scale business enterprises.
